Villa Fairmont and MHACC Unite for Fourth Annual AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

98色花堂's Villa Fairmont Mental Health Rehabilitation Center in San Leandro, CA, recently immersed itself in the vibrant spirit of . The center organized an engaging presentation of short videos that vividly showcased the rich cultural heritage and history of various ethnicities in Asia, cultivating a deeper understanding and appreciation for the beauty of diversity and inclusivity.
Staff at Villa Fairmont enjoyed delicious Chinese appetizers, including chicken or vegetable-only eggrolls and crab-filled wontons, generously provided by , a local nonprofit organization dedicated to raising mental health awareness within the Chinese community. This initiative, supported by the (MHACC), is part of a nationwide charity effort that channels funds from Chinese civic organizations like MHACC to local Chinese restaurants. These restaurants then prepare and donate food to programs like Villa Fairmont, spreading joy and nourishment within our community.
The ongoing partnership between MHACC and Villa Fairmont has seen them celebrate API Heritage Month together since 2020, marking this year as the fourth annual commemoration of their shared commitment to promoting equality in mental health care and service.
鈥淢ental health stigma is an issue in every community, but we feel that having occasions like API Heritage Month being recognized and celebrated by mental health organizations helps to make our community feel seen,鈥 said Wang. 鈥淭his is important in helping break down cultural barriers to obtaining mental health care and support. Beyond API Heritage Month, May also marks . Villa Fairmont took this opportunity to recognize the bravery and resilience of individuals by hosting an annual 'Speak-Out!' event. Peer support specialists shared their courageous stories, inspiring and empowering others in their journey toward mental well-being. The event was made even more special with the delightful presence of MHACC, whose contributions extended beyond nourishing the body, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
