How to Help in Ukraine

As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, the humanitarian crisis deepens. This invasion has been an assault upon deeply held democratic values in Ukraine, America, and among all of our European allies. It has resulted in unnecessary loss of life and more than two million people becoming refugees from Ukraine. Countless others remain in Ukraine, facing terrifying choices and dangerous circumstances.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is a sobering reminder of the violence and injustices that occur throughout the world – including the United States. It can be overwhelming to contemplate, especially when it affects us personally, or, our families, loved ones, or our communities. Many of us are struggling through multiple crises and stressors in addition to news of the Ukraine invasion. The past few years have been extremely challenging, and the challenges continue.

It can be hard to know how to move forward with hope. One thing we can do is to talk with each other. Supporting coworkers, sharing our thoughts and feelings, and understanding differences can buoy spirits and create community. We can pull together and create positive change here at home while our thoughts are with the Ukrainians and all suffering people.
